A friend has this beautiful book. It goes through each season, giving entertaining ideas and party themes. It’s a brilliant book.

Thing to Make:

Home Depot has 18" whiskey barrels for $30 and Bed Bath & Beyond has 20" glass table toppers for $8.99. Perfect patio tables

I can get used barrels from the local wineries in the area and make these. Beautiful!

Weekly Adventure:

I don’t have a picture for it, but on Sunday night after work I got surprised by my boyfriend. He called me, I said that I wished I could see him and all of a sudden he’s knocking on my door. Best boyfriend ever.

Florence Cathedral, Italy- been there!

I seem to have aquired a post-grad habit of taking crazy road-trips places. Should I blame the boyfriend for this one, or no? This week Stephen and I went up to Long Beach in Washington to ride horses on the beach and just generally have a beach day. Details to come next week!

What a fun week! Stephen and I made it up to Seattle (again…I swear…I’m going home more now that I’ve moved out than I did when I was in college) for four days of vacation. We ran all over Seattle, spent some time on the beach and had a lot of yummy food. And we fed seagulls…which was So. Much. Fun.

The seagull feeding area next to the Ivars on the Seattle Waterfront. My whole childhood, I had no idea it existed and Stephen and I found it on Tuesday. So much fun!

Homeward Bound: Why Women are Embracing the New Domesticity

An interesting book on why and how women are leaving the workplace for the home. Intriguing considering we just won our way out of the home.

Thing to Make:

My roommate and I have a growing collection of succulents. I’m still on the hunt for plants for our porch, but for now, we have some lovely greenery inside, which is making the apartment look splendid.

It became officially official. Now it’s on paper, in real life. I’m have bachelors degree. Now let’s go get me a job!
